Christmas Lunch Buffet
We recently held our annual Christmas lunch but instead of going out, this year we stayed in! We decided to hold our lunch at St John’s, where we meet each Monday and Thursday, and put on a cold buffet for our members.
We had some help with all the preparations and we also decided to approach some of our local retailers to see wether they would be able to support us by making a donaton of produce that we could then turn into buffet items.
Happy to say that all of the retailers received our request positively and KMS would like to put on record our grateful thanks for those involved:
Marks And Spencer, Kingsley Village
Many thanks to both Dan Platt and Becky Hubbard at the new M & S store at Fraddon for agreeing to make a donation towards our lunch buffet, we decided upon some fresh trifles and other goodies which went down extremely well with our members.
Asda, St Austell
Thanks very much to Community Life Champion Emma Riley for the kind donation of a beautiful turkey crown. One of our guys, Neil, is a former chef and he cooked and presented it to perfection. Needless to say that that went down very well also!
Tesco, St Austell
Grateful thanks also go to Claire-Louise Hunt at Tesco where we chose a variety of cold items to go along with the bag of crackers that were also donated……..we all groaned at the jokes!!
The Co-op, Moorland Road, St Austell.
The co-op was the first outlet we approached and Su Pettis there warmly welcomed our request for assistance towards our buffet. So, thanks to Su and Gary King (Community Pioneer) for their kind and generous donation.
So, many thanks to all those who contributed to and helped out at the buffet, everybody there said it was a great success and we should do it all again!!
